Yummy Valentines

I made these for a swap. Beate inspired me with her tutorial on SCS! I forgot to take a photo of the Hershey bar inside! You pull up the bow and the candy bar comes out. I used Purely Pomegranate as the base color and stamped all over with the blossom stamp from Always. Then I stamped the heart image onto watercolor paper with black Stazon and embossed with retired copper embossing powder. I used my SU markers and a aquapainter to blend colors. This was then cut out and layered onto some Cameo Coral cs and cut out. I used Brushed Copper paper for the band and used my corner rounder to make scallops on the bottom and then punched with the piercing tool. And then used the hole template to put small holes along the top of the band. The ribbon is the yummy Purely Pomegranate ribbon!!!! I used the tag image from Happy Heart day and stamped it the same as the heart and colored the same way. Used my tag punched to cut out and then tied it on with linen thread. I love how they turned out!

Cutie Patooties!

I knitted up a few things and was going to put them in my shop, but had to test them on my nephews first! I will now have to make more as these are keepers for them! Landon doesn't like to keep a hat on, so I made this one from a pattern I found on www.knitty.com. Isn't he adorable in it! Seemed to like it too! We shall see.......... Then I made this pencil scarf and Colin loved it! We shall see if he really wears it! Doesn't he look soooo cute!!! And of course, litte brother had to try it on too!

Baby Cakes Pin Cushion

I didn't come up with the origional idea, but knew I had to make these!!!! I love cupcakes and think these would make such cute gifts! So I have made two and put them in my Etsy shop. Yummy!

Nature at it's Best

Sometimes I find it hard to believe that we live right next to a major highway! In our backyard we always have some wildlife friends hanging out. We have rabbits that live in our grasses, squirrels that climb our trees and fence, and birds all around. Yesterday I heard a commotion outback and looked, and saw three deer running behind our house. This worries me about the deer. If we knocked down the large tall fence that is a bit further behind our house they would be near a busy, busy road. And when they ran through my backyard they only had a few more yards to cross and they would be in the road. I don't want them to get hit! I think this cardinal was thinking the same thing! (note the fence and the lovely droppings that the birds leave!) But I really don't mind. I love to sit and watch them out the window!

Stampin' Up!'s current promotion of the Valentine's Day Bundle is a great deal! You will love this stamp set! Only 10 more days to take advantage of this! Email me if you are interested!
I just made this card using the set. The heart paper here is something I picked up last year at Target and had in my stash! This is a gate fold card.

Always

I am in love with this new stamp set from Stampin' Up! It is called Always. I knew I had to have it when I got the new catalog. And what a perfect time to use it! For Valentines Day!!!!
I also used my new tool to make this card! It is made by Crafter's Companion and is called the Top Score Multiboard. I am not affiliated but got this on HSN, but you can get it online too. It is a great tool that you can score on and create folds without having to measure. This is great for me as I don't have to think about it! The words on the inside of the card are from a little stamp set that I don't know the name of.......I also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the black portion on the front of the card. Hope you like it!

Who Gives a Knit????

Don't you just love this saying! hee hee!!! As you know from reading my blog I am a knitter.
I wanted to create a journal so I can record what yarns I use for each project etc. Why didn't I do this a few years ago???? I would always toss the labels and have no record at all!~ DUH!
So now I have a journal where I can record it all! I used my Bind-It-All and need to learn how to use this thing better......I didn't get the outside covers and inside pages to line up. :(
I knew that Knitabella from Stamping Bella would be perfect for this! The sentiment is from there too! The designer paper used for the covers is from DCWV. I used Stampin' Up cardstock for the stamped images and layers. Added buttons and linen thread from SU too. I added the sweater charms on the bottom of my ribbon with mini brads. These will hold places in the journal where I want.

Fresh Fresh Snow!

We are getting the first snow of the new year! Not sure how much we are getting, as the report changes all the time! But I just love the look of fresh fallen snow! Everything is crisp and white and the silence is so calming! Doesn't the snowman flag stand out against the white! He sure looks happy!

Felted Again!

I am *LOVING* how this bag turned out! No real pattern, just kind of made it up as I went along! I used 2 different yarns as you can see. The multicolor was lumpy during the knitting process but really felted well! I used handles from a purse I got at a thrift store, a great button I got online and a brown elastic hair band for the closure! Pleased as punch with the result!

Ginger Blossoms make me Smile!

Can you believe it! I found some time to stamp! I won't tell you how long it took me to do all this ......too long! But I had fun doing it! I guess the longest part was waiting for some things to dry. (The flower center on the card and the bookplate on the notebook)
Look at the card! See the pkg. of flowers to the right??? Well I have had these in my *stash* for a few years! I finally came across them and figured I could use them in the same was as The Pretties! They are really a clip thingy to hold your tablecloth down! I got them years ago in a party supply store for .33 cents each! They come 4 to a pack and each one has two flowers, so I got 8 of them in each pkg! How cool is that! I used my sponges and classic ink to color it. For the center of the flower I used a Build a Brad base and then cut part of the DSP with the small circle punch. I used a clear glue I had and added micro beads! Isn't it pretty!!!!
These are notebooks I picked up at Target a while back. (Stash again!!!!) They came 2 in a pack! I just glued some paper on the front and back, added a bookplate (used a diecut) and stamped the verse. I filled it in with Crystal Effects! I also put some of the DSP into the pen and now have a matching set! The pen fits nicely into the spiral of the notebook! I also used 2 of the smaller circle punches to give the closure a little something instead of leaving it plain.
And then I made a little mini book with the same coasters I used for my calendars! Gotta love them!
I don't know what I am going to do with it yet, but will add some cardstock on the pages for photos etc. And it's also the first time I played with my Bind-It-All! Can't wait to do more!!!!!
