Thoughts & Prayers

This stamp set is beautiful. Perfect for just about any occasion, and a set for sympathy and get well cards. I hate to have to make a sympathy card, but sadly needed one. The base of this card is Rose Red and I used one of our new Texture plates to emboss the front of the card. I inked up the tree stamp with Basic Brown and stamped onto the Whisper White piece of CS. Then I used Crystal Effects and used some Sweet Pea Flower soft to bring the tree to life! I also have lots of "stuff" that I got for 90% off when our local Recollections went out of business and decided to try some crackle paint. I just painted it on a small piece of Whisper White and then inked up the sentiment from the set and stamped onto it when it was dry. Then punched with our new Scallop Oval punch(Available tomorrow!!!). I also punched the paper with the Photo Corner punch. I used Chocolate Chip for the layers and a Chocolate Chip ribbon to finish it off. I just used a marker to ground the tree.
The inside of the card was made by just using markers on part of the flower stamp and the sentiment stamped in Basic Brown, and another photo corner.

Maryland is for Crabs!

Blue Crabs that is! The best thing in the world steamed!!!! But this little guy isn't steamed, he's happy! My mother asked me to make some crab cards for a gift basket their group is putting together. This is what I came up with. I made three of each design. The cards measure 5"x5" and fit great in our square envelopes. I used my new Nestablitlies die cuts for the layers, added some googlie eyes or dew drops to the cards along with some designer series paper and ribbon. (The basic card and ribbon are both Wild Wasabi which is retired.....but I have tons of it so I want to use it up!!!)

Little Peanut!

If you follow my blog, you know how much I enjoy my little backyard critters. We have a family of squirrels that frolic out back all day long! I have been tossing them peanuts now and then. One of them has been coming up to the screen door and looking in! I opened the door the other day and he/she didn't run....(lol...as I sit he/she is at the screen door again!) away. So I tossed a few more and this is where he/she decided to feast. It kept coming back to get a peanut, then went back to sit on top of the chair to eat it!
I have added a video to the post! This little guy just kept coming back to the door! He can't be eating them all and must be hoarding them somewhere! I make this noise, and he just comes and looks at me!

Happy 50th Michael!

My DH turns 50 tomorrow! Happy Birthday Michael!!!!!
This card was a labor of love..........wanted to make something special so this has a little bit of this and that to it!
I used the Textured Plates Kit #4 from SU to dry emboss the main black card and then distressed it some with White craft ink. The I used a new punch I got at Michael's from EK Success that is a row of birthday candles. I layered this with two different colors of card stock. The designer paper is something I had in my stash. The ribbons are from a pack of adhesive backed ribbon I got a while ago on one of my trips to the Offray Ribbon outlet in Hagerstown! Perfect for the card!
The label was made with a stamp from the Cute & Curly Label Punch bundle and I used Everyday Flexible Phases for the words. Added some black brads and made a frame with the Curly Label punch to mount it on.
The inside is done with some pre-made black chipboard numbers from my stash and the horn thingy from the set Crazy for Cupcakes, and the word "Happy" from the set Happy Everything. So as you can see.........a little bit from here and there!
