I didn't fall off the face of the earth!

I never thought I would go crazy without my computer, but I did!!!!! We were out for about 4 days! I almost went off the deep end!!! Well, not quite, but it was bad...... Good ole' Comcast and their problems. Every time the weather changes, and it gets really hot or cold we have a very slow connection or none at all. Something they have to adjust at the tap. I call every time and tell them what the problem is. Do they listen? NOPE! They have to go through the process of sending someone out. Then this person says they cannot fix it, and will have to put in a maintenance call. So we wait and wait. Now I am back til it gets cold again, or maybe hotter than it has been! GEEZ!!!! I will try to find some time to stamp in the next few days and post something! And am gathering some blog candy together. So stay tuned! Only if you read my blog will you know about it! TGIF!

Just a Few Cards

I have had a little time to play so I made a few cards. The pink one is using a Fall Preview set called Pick a Petal! Great set. I wanted to use this "polished stone" piece I had in my scrap bin so I chose an open petal so you can see the background. I also used a pink Rhinestone brad that is in the preview mini as well! I love them! The stitches are done with the piercing tool and matt and while gel pen.
The pirate card is done using the Ahoy Matey stamp set. I CASED this from someone on SCS, and changed the colors up some. Such a cute little pirate!
This card is a little 3x6 card. I love making these! The background paper is from Pallet of Prints. I used Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the top of the cake and the little rhinstones are from my craft stash and put on with mini glue dots.

Happy 50th to Me!!!!

Well today was the BIG day! ugh! Dare I say the ffffffffffffffffffff..............fifty word? YES! I think I am a young 50! While I wish I was skinny, and am NOT, I have my health and a wonderful family. The boys let me sleep in this morning, as it was my b-day and Connor's last day of school. I got phone calls from my siblings, (but one!) of Happy Birthday wishes. My friend Phyllis, who I went to see in May in Arizona, sent me a gorgeous Flower Garden. Love it Philly! And then the a nice surprise! My friend and neighbor, Fern, through a little dinner party for me and invited some of my other neighbor friends! A nice surprise! She had called me earlier in the week to see what I was doing for my birthday, and when I said that Mike was working late, so nothing, she said she would cook me dinner! Well I woke up with a sinus headache this morning and it finally went away before I went over. Well..........I didn't put any makeup on since I figured it would just be us.......SURPRISE! Had a wonderful dinner with a Yummy cake (thank you Lisa!) So thanks to Guy & Fern, Karen & Ned, Katie & Phil, and Sabra and Bill! Glad to spend my milestone birthday with such good neighbors and friends!!!!

Happy 12th Birthday Connor!

Today is my baby's 12th birthday! I cannot believe that the years have flown by so fast. I can still remember sitting there in the doctors office, having a stress test done 2 weeks before my due date. Then being told I needed another test at the hospital. Here I was, by myself, thinking it was all okay........Mike was working. Well I had to call him and get him there quick! I was going to have an emergency C-section!!!! Was I prepared??? No! My parents were on their way to the beach, but came to the hospital instead. Connor was born at 1:17pm. But there were problems. He had pulmonary hypertension. He had to be intubated and paralyzed and medicated. He had stopped breathing twice. So here I am, laid up from having a Spinal, and I couldn't see him! It was touch and go the first night. Makes me cry as I type this. He was there for a week and then came home. I kept his bassinet right next to me and watched him closely for the first few nights and then was able to relax.
Now my baby is as tall as me, and growing up into a fine young man! I love you Connor, with all my heart!

Little Critters Everywhere!

I love where we live! We are so close to the busy roads and a shopping center, but I still feel like we have our own little world. A few weeks ago my husband noticed a rabbits nest in the ground when he was mowing the lawn. Well today, I was getting ready to take my son to school and looked out the side window of the front door and look what was sitting on the front porch! How cute is he (she)! He then jumped down and was eating some weeds when along came a squirrel and it hopped away to the lawn! I love having these little critters around to watch!

Just a few cards!

I haven't been keeping current with my blog........sorry!!! Here are a few cards I have made. Thanks to Dawn Griffith for her tutorial on the "File in the Middle" card (see my favorite blogs) I made this card for my nephew's graduation. I changed it up a little and used the Word Window Punch below the cut out square on the back before I taped it together. This provided a slot to put the money in. The photos show the front of the card, the inside file front and back.
The poem was shared by another stamper, but I can't remember who. See it below.
Yesterday was never ending, today at last you smile. For yes, you have arrived; you've walked that longest mile. And now with all that is behind, you stand to gain your prize, on this your graduation day, our hearts shall burst with pride. As you stand upon the podium and lift your head up high, we'll all give thanks to God above, while holding back the tears we cry.God Bless you, as you step ahead, to find all that He has planned, may His strength and wisdom lead you always as you hold His hand.
The colors are off on this card, but you get the idea! I found this stamp in my drawer, and this is how I feel about my stamps! I cannot wait to get my new Stampin' Up! catalog! Should be here soon!!!! Yippeeeeeeeeeee!
The image of the stamper is my by "Lasting Impressions by Panache".

Back from Arizona

I have returned from Arizona safe and sound! Had a great time, lots of sight seeing and rest and relaxation. Here are a few of my favorite photos! I have some blog candy for the person who can tell me where at least 3 of the photos are! I will close the entries on Friday, and if there is a tie, I will put the names in a hat! So leave me a comment with your guesses! Blog candy is fun!
