I haven't posted any card creations in a while so I figured I would show a few.  Hard to tell from the photo's, but the baby card is a swing card.  I used to make these by hand, cutting with an exacto knife.  But I was going through some things in my craft room and found a die cut I forgot I had purchased!

Knitting for a New Life!

I can finally share about some projects I made!  I was holding off until the shower to keep them a surprise!
I have known this new Mom-to-Be since she was born and as soon as I heard she was pregnant I got started!  The first thing was the baby blanket.  Molly has gray in her home and I figured it would go in her baby theme some how.  And I guess it is gender neutral right?
So the blanket was finished first

Duh! I just went to get the pic of the blanket and realized I only have one of when I was working on it!  Will have to get her to send me a better one!

Then Molly told me that she was having a girl and it was on!  I made a sweater, hat, and a little sleep sack!

 Such fun!

Bug Revenge!

If you know me, you know I hate bugs!!!  I can only tolerate dragonflies, butterflies, and ladybugs.  Right now it is beetle season here.  Some kind of oriental one and the Japanese beetle are driving me nuts!  At night, you can't walk out on the front or back porch with getting bombarded by them.  And you got it!  THEY FLY INTO THE HOUSE WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED!

So, last night I was sitting her watching TV and knitting a shawl.  A shawl that has a lace pattern.  The kind that if I drop stitches, it is very aggravating to find the dropped stitches and pick them up correctly.  So.....I am knitting along, then all of a sudden, I get ATTACKED by a beetle!  Flew right into my face!!  OMG!  I am swatting, and trying to get away from it and it keeps attacking.....and guess what!  I completely pulled my needles out of the row I was on!  I was angry!  I put the knitting down and searched for the little sucker who messed me up!  No...I didn't have knitting fairies that messed up my knitting!  I had a beetle do it for me!  I still cannot find where to SOB went.

But today, I went to Ace Hardware and got BEETLE TRAPS!  Yep!  This is now war!

I put one in the front garden, by the front door!  I didn't even have the stake in the ground, when these beetles came out of nowhere to get to it!  The smell was working!  Then I went and put one near the patio door out back!  They work!  Now I am anxious to see how many beetles are flying by the porch light tonight!

This is the brand of trap!

This show the little buggers at the bottom of the bag!

And the one below is looking down into the bag, through the funnel!  Yep they are at the bottom!

Stamped bags and Bottle Caps!

Went out to celebrate a friend's birthday yesterday.  I decided we needed party favors!  So I stamped on little canvas bags.  I used a stamp from the Mixed Bouquet set and black Stazon ink.  The bottle caps are non Stampin' Up!.  I was into bottle caps before we started selling them and bought a gazillion at a local brewery supply place.  I made the initials in My Digital Studio, and then embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I tried one with Crystal Effects as the top layer but knew it would take too long to dry.  Thankfully I had some of those clear plastic things used in scrapbooking in my stash and used them.  I used a split key chain ring to attach the bottle cap and added it to the draw string.  I think they were a hit!

40th Annual Maryland Sheep & Wool!

Despite suffering from allergies or a bad cold, I managed to have fun at yet another MDS&W festival!  Fun weekend with my knitting friends and those from the dark side too (crocheters)!  The weather was gorgeous and I am now sporting a farmers tan with my arms and neck!  It was fun to see all the animals who supply us with our fiber, the many types of people who come to this event.  Love the sights and sounds!
