Snowflakes in August!

The last day of August!!! Where has the summer gone? Geez! Before we know it, Christmas will be here and the cold will be back. So in honor of this here is my paint can all decorated for a gift or a treat.
Stamps:
Super Size Snowflake*******Available Sept 1st in the Winter Mini Catalog!!!!
Snowflakes (retired)
Riveting (retired Hostess set)
Cold Play (just for small snowflake on band of paper around can)
Paper:
Whisper White CS
Taken with Teal
Ink:
Silver Encore
Taken with Teal
Accessories:
1-3/8" Circle punch
1-1/4" Circle punch
Marvy Scallop Circle punch
2 way glue pen
Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
mini glue dots
Sticky Strip
Snail adhesive
ribbon
sparkly filler for inside of can
This is a paint can I got at Staples. I used a 12 x 12 piece of cs for the center band. It doesn't quite fit all the way around, so I used the large snowflake to cover where the paper doesn't meet. Works perfectly!!!
I stamped the outline image of Super Size Snowflake randomly all over the cardstock, filled in with the words from the stamp "Winter Wishes" with Taken with Teal. Then used the small snowflake from Cold Play and Silver Encore to fill in the spaces.
I used Taken with Teal to ink up the large solid image of the snowflake and stamped on another sheet of WW. I cut out, added the 2-way glue pen to the image and then Dazzling Diamonds. I let this dry. I used mini glue dots to adhere the band to the front and Sticky Strip for the Snowflake.
I used Marvy Scallop Circle punch for the top of the can and stamped with the Snowflakes stamp set and used Snail Adhesive to adhere to the lid.
The Happy Holidays from Riveting stamp set was stamped on white the cut out with the smaller of the circle punches and layered on Taken with Teal CS cut with the larger circle punch.
If you look real close, on the photos you will see a silver washer. This came attached to the can with one of those plastic thingies (for lack of a better word!) I cut it off and used ribbon to tie it back on. This is used to open the lid on the can.
I finished by adding some sparkly filler I had in one of my bins! Now it is ready for a gift or goodies!!!

A Ho Hum Day!

Not a lot of stamping done in the last few days. Trying to get myself psyched up for Connor going back to school on Monday. This summer flew by! And I know some parents cannot wait for their kids to go back..................NOT ME! I hate the fights over homework, and the projects and grief that come along with all of it. I am also a night owl and like to stay up late and sleep in in the morning. This will now have to stop for the most part. When I went to school we didn't go back til after Labor Day and got out the first week of June. This past year we didn't get out until June 20th! For Pete's sake......what kind of summer is that??????? Feel like I just unpacked the backpack to put it away for the summer! I know it will be good for Connor. He loves school and likes the routine. I just hate how fast the years are flying. With only one child, before I know it, he will leave the nest.....BOO HOO! And for you knitters you will get a chuckle out of this! http://www.jibjab.com/view/94806

Trip to the Baltimore Aquarium

My sister, brother, and I took the kids to the Baltimore Aquarium this past Friday in Baltimore. They loved seeing all the fish and I think the sharks were their favorite!!!! I am standing with Connor by the USS Constellation. If you have never been to the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, it is a great place to visit!

Knitted Gelato Bags

Here are my first two bags I have made with this pattern. I goofed up on the handles on the first bag (pink) I made, but I think it can still work. ???????? These are fun to make once you realize what you are doing! I am hoping to have an open house in the fall to sell my hand made knitted and stamped items. UPDATE****** Julie asked whether these were felted after knitting. Yes they were! They are much larger. Then you felt them by deliberately washing them in hot water!!!! Be sure to put them in a zipper pillow case or you will have fuzz all over your washer!!!

Gardening Gift pail

I know I know! It isn't Spring! But when I got my Veggieballa stamp from Stampingbella, I knew that it would go perfect with the stuff I was hoarding from the Target $1 spot some time ago. I used my Crop-o-dile to punch holes in the bucket and then wove the ribbon through the holes. The card itself is a pocket card and I embossed the front with a Cuttlebug folder and used the Crop-o-dile again to emboss the flap with polka-dots! This tool is fantastic!!!!!!!!

All in The Family Stamp Set!

When I saw this stamp set in the new catalog I knew I had to have it! This was one of the reasons! I have seen those cute little signs on cars and the cute return address labels with the same idea. I think these would make fantastic gifts! This is my first attempt and I did it quickly so it may change.........but you get the idea!
Snowball is a Maltese so I used my Versamarker and white embossing powder for her. The rest was colored in with colored pencils.

Yummy Edible Flowers!

Haven't posted in a while. We went to Fenwick Island, DE for our vacation and I am still behind on some things! I had a large zucchini that I needed to use and decided to try my new Demarle Petal Tray. I whipped up a batch of zucchini bread and scooped it into the tray. Once cooled, I used our pastry bag and a tip and put some cream cheese icing in the middle! YUMMY! Wouldn't these be great for a tea party or a brunch! Or just to eat..............mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
