Ooooooops!!!!!!!

I was trying to be clever and change my blog to something a little more decorative......made a booboo I guess and I lost some of the text. So for now this is how it will be til I can figure out how to do it right!

In the meantime.........here's another Halloween card! I will be sad to see this Wednesday come and go! Oh well....then it will be time to focus on Winter themes and Christmas!

October SMAK

Ok.....you are asking, "What is a SMAK?" It stands for Small Act of Kindness. In the rubberstamp world, this means a rubber stamped item. On one of the many rubber stamp groups I belong to, you can sign up for a monthly swap. This is mine for October. With the Stampin' Up! Designer paper special starting on November 1st, this is a great card to make! Simple and easy! Julie Buhler, another demo, had this on her blog so I decided to CASE it. She wasn't sure how to keep it closed, so I came up with a solution!!!! I had some little magnet buttons from ProMAG and a thin magnetic adhesive sheet. (I got them at Michaels) I used my 1/4" circle punch to cut the magnetic sheet and used this on the inside right of the card, and used a mini glue dot on the inside left to hold the magnetic button on. Works like a charm! The card itself is made with the Coluzzle. I folded my card in half and then used the coluzzle circle that is about 4-1/4 " around. You need to bring part of the circle past the fold so you will have a flap to open the card. I used Certainly Celery Cardstock for the base, and stamped with the swirls from Baroque Motifs with Certainly Celery Classic ink. I then cut a 1-1/4" strip of Soft Sky and then a 1" strip from Wintergreen Designer Series paper. I put some of the blue gingham ribbon around these and mounted to the center. You will have to turn your card over and trim the access. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up my greeting from Sincere Salutations and stamped with Basic Black ink. I then used my Crop-0-Dile (COD)and punched a small hole in the tip of the front only, added a silver eyelet with the COD, and added some more blue gingham ribbon so it can hang!

How cute would this be with a family photo in it!!!!

Wintergreen Ornament

I picked up a idea sheet in the Martha aislse at Michaels called Glitter Star Ornaments. I knew that our Stampin' Up! Designer Paper would be great for this! There is a copyright on it so I don't think I can copy it, but can tell you how to do it.! Very easy to do!!!

Cut out 12 squares of DS paper 1-1/2 inch. Cut a 2" circle out of the same paper. Take your squares and shape them diagonally into cones. I sort of pinched one of the corners to make my middle point and then brought the two sides together to form the cone. I used a mini glue dot to hold them together. I glued my cones to the circle using Crystal Effects. (and when one of my cones popped open with just the glue dot, I decided to glue them more with Crystal Effects) I used mini clothes pins I had in my stash to hold them together until they dried. I punched the flower out and added the Pink Rhinestone brad to the center, and glued this down with a good amount of Crystal Effects. I punched a hole in one of the cones with my Crop-O-Dile and added a silver eyelet. Threaded with some silver cord to hang it! These are so pretty!

Winter Joy

Another of the stamps I got at the convention in Westminster. It is called Winter Square by "Art Gone Wild". I knew this image would be great for square cards! How cute is he!!!! I stamped the image on Whisper White cs and then used my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol to color. I added some sparkle with the glitter gel pen. I layered this on blue cardstock that I ran through the snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder. I used "joy" from a retired Stampin' Up! set (name slips me as I type this!). I punched holes on the side with my Crop-o-Dile and set the jumbo eyelets with it too! But then I decided I needed to punch the corners and could only do three of them with the ticket corner punch since the eyelets were already set and I couldn't get the paper all the way in! Shucks!!! I used the small oval punch and then the oval frame from Hodgepodge hardware. I added CE to this! I am doing another card that I will post tomorrow that I am sending into SU with this little bling to the hardware. The snowflake ribbon is something I picked up at Michales. I love how this turned out!

~Haunted Mansion~

Spooky...............

This is one of the stamps I got when I went to the stamp convention in Westminster. It was so cute and small that I fell in love with it! The stamp is called Haunted Mansion and is made by A Muse Artstamps. I stamped the image onto Whisper White cardstock (all cs is Stampin Up!) and colored with my SU Markers. I then punched the Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black cardstock with my Marvy scallop circle. I cut each circle in almost half, and off set them to make my frame for the image. I used my White gel pen to add dots to the scallops. I used a piece of Green Galore and ran in through my Cuttlebug and mounted onto Basic Black. I used Real Red for the other Cuttlebug layer and mounted it onto black. I used a stamp I had in my stash from somewhere......maybe the Target $1 spot from some time ago???? as the background on my Lavender Lace cs. Stapled some orange polka dot ribbon the the image and was done!

Faux Ice Cream Cones (cupcakes!)

Jill, another stamper and blogger shared her photos and recipe for her icing last week. I remember these as a kid. I decided to make some for my nephew and Godson for his 18th birthday! He is such a good kid!!!! Happy Birthday Kyle! I used my Demarle mini muffin mold to bake mine in. I then had to figure out a way to transport them!!!! So into my stamp room I went! I got a box that my Behr paint cans came in and a 12x12 piece of cardboard. I then took my coluzzle and cut 25 circles into the cardboard to slip the cones into. I made sides out of aluminum foil and placed the cardboard on top. Not too bad! Will have to try to save it so I can use it again!

Pork Tenderloin-Demarle style!

I love being a Demarle rep and love the product so much! So the other night I wanted to cook a pork tenderloin and used my Sponge cake mold. This was so yummy and the clean up was a breeze! Nothing sticks to the mold! Just wash out with a soapy sponge!

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Peel and slice 3 apples and place into bowl, add a handful or more of dried cranberries (or raisins) add a few tablespoons of brown sugar, and a few dashed of cinnamon. Add 1 tablespoon of corn starch and mix all together. Put mixture around tenderloin in the mold. (you don't spray or grease the mold!!!!) Cover mold with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then uncover, and bake til the meat is cooked through to 160 degrees! I dumped the entire contents onto a serving platter and was done!

This is the mold afterwards. Look how nothing burned and stuck to the sides! You know this wouldn't happen in a regular baking dish!

Clippies, Clippies, Everywhere!

I don't remember who shared this idea originally, but they are popping up everywhere! These are those big binder clips. But instead of putting the arms back to pinch and clip, you leave them like this! They will hold a photo, a recipe card, and even a GHOST! These are little favors I made up for the party! I got my clips at Staples and they are 2" across. I used some Halloween background paper that I got at Michael's. I hope the girls like them!

Halloween Treats! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

First I have to apologize for not posting anything for a long time! Geez! Time has gotten away from me this week and I really didn't do any stamping. I hope to remedy that in a few days!!!

I have my cousin's Halloween Gift Exchange party tonight and have been making things for it! (I made the Halloween coasters a few posts down as part of my gift)

Here are some pretzel rods I dipped into melted white chocolate wafers and then sprinkled with Halloween sprinkles. I filled 3 of these little buckets that I got at the Target $1 Spot a while back. Of course I had to sample one.......and mmmmmmmmmmmm.............very yummy! Something about that salt and sweet together!!!!

Spooky Candy Tins

I love Halloween and I can't stop making things for it! I got these little tins in the wedding section as Michael's. I used sticky strip and ran a small strip of background paper around the bottom of the tin. Then I used sticky strip and applied the ribbon around the lid. The skeleton image is from Batty for You. I colored with SU markers and stamped onto Whisper White CS, and cut the image out with a circle punch, and layered it on Basic Black that I punched with the Scallop circle punch. (Hard to see in the photo) I used a glue stick to glue these layers together and to the tin lid. I filled with Halloween M&M's and they can't wait to be given away!
