I haven't made these in years. At least not since I started using and selling Demarle at Home. I would use my old metal mini muffin tins and would be lucky to get 3/4 of them out of the tin in a whole piece. I am going to a friend's house tomorrow for a tea and this is what I am bringing. Peanut Brittle Christmas Tree

A Hostess gift festive style! I made this homemade peanut brittle and poured into my Demarle Tree Mold. Once cool, I just unmolded and wrapped up. This stuff is always a hit and I make it every year. I usually spread it out on my Silpat and let it cool, and then break it up, but this makes a cute presentation too! (Tree Molds are on sale right now! Contact me if you want to order one! They can be used for baking cakes, brownies, etc.)

Strawberry Shortcake Kabobs!

I love making fun things for parties! I have made fruit kabobs in the past with longer skewers, but found these shorter ones marketed for candy apples I knew they would make a cuter smaller version of something I saw on Pinterest. I cut up a store bought pound cake into squares, put a strawberry on one end , a piece of cake in the center, then another strawberry on top. I then melted green candy chocolate melts (for the Christmas combo of red/green) and put in my icing bag and just piped the squiggles all over. Refrigerate a few minutes to harden the chocolate...and voila! They are wrapped up and ready to take the the holiday party tonight! (I think I will make again for Christmas Eve!)

Great Finds at Homegoods!

I love going to Homegoods since I never know what goodies I will find! I stopped by tonight and held back at buying some gorgeous bowls and things and just grabbed these goodies! Two of the things will be re purposed! 1.) I got two of these. My beach chair has a cup holder, but the other two chairs we use don't. So my husband's and son's drinks always end up sitting in the sand! These will come in sooo handy on our beach vacation! 2.) These are sold to put around your veggies and are made of silicone! I saw them and immediately thought about my yarn cakes balls. I usually use rubber bands or hair elastics and these will be so much better as they are adjustable! 3.) These are called cinch hooks, like a carabiner And are marketed as shower curtain hooks. I want them more for handing things! Like my keys on my purse! And I have other ideas as well! I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watching Me.........

Isn't that a song? Well I do.........I always sense when someone is watching me. I was eating an apple when Snowball decided she needed to go outside. I opened the patio door and was standing there waiting for her, eating my apple. I felt eyes on me! I looked up and sure enough......two pairs of eyes were upon me!!! Would they pounce? Nah............just my backyard squirrels, relaxing in the patio roof overhang. I ate the apple, then tossed it to the rocks on the side of the patio to see what they'd do. YEP! Scavengers that they are, one jumped right down to inspect. And off he/she went to enjoy an afternoon snack. Happy Stamping & Knitting!

Sweet 16 needs quick gift!

Connor needed a gift and card to take to a friends 16th birthday dinner/party. Guys don't know what do get girls who are friends so he suggested cash. Easy! Cash is impersonal, but who doesn't like to get it...right?! So I went to my bin of scraps and grabbed some Greenhouse Gala dsp. I used the scallop border punch on Whisper White and them mounted the dsp to it. This was mounted onto a Chocolate Chip base card that was embossed with an embossing folder. For the sentiment, I created the words on my computer and printed onto WW cardstock. I used the large circle punch and cut it out. Then I ran sticky strip around the circle and then covered it with some scrunched ribbon I had in my ribbon stash. (non-SU) The large brown ribbon is a retired product that I hoard!!! I stamped the inside with the birthday phrase and cake. The can, is made from an empty fruit pop-top can that is covered with the same DSP. The flower is die cut and mounted onto the can. I added ribbon to the ring of the pop-top. (the can has filler and cash inside!) Happy Stamping & Knitting!

Beautiful Wedding!

Nikki and Jacques had a beautiful wedding on 5/26! I was so glad to be a part of their special day! I made the invitations see this post, the name cards and the table numbers. It was a labor of love, but I loved the personal touches that were put into this wedding. In honor of the Addie, the daughter they lost, butterflies we incorporated in the theme. I used the Big Shot and the Scallop Square die for the base of Melon Mambo. I mounted a square of black on top of it and used a pre-made number that I purchased in a set from a local craft store that I cut down. It is double sided. The butterfly is also cut with the Butterfly die cut and then I ran them through the Big Shot again and embossed them. The body of the butterfly is adorned with black rhinestones. The name cards were just black and vanilla cardstock cut down to fit in the butterfly holders. I used a pink rhinestone on some to indicate the vegetarian choice of entree. Easter Cookies..............YUM!

We are celebrating Easter on Saturday with my husbands family. I am bringing dessert. I wanted to make some cookies to go with the pastries we are getting at Kolache Creations. This bakery features Kolache's which are a Czech pastry. (My husbands families heritage) I couldn't find my Egg Cookie Cutter so I only used the duck/chick and the bunny cutters. I love making sugar cookies! Labor intensive, but sooooo much fun to make. They are drying, so I can't stack them til they are completely dry. The chick is a very large cookie and very sweet with all the icing on it! So when I started running out of royal icing, I chose to just pipe the outline and and wings to make some a little less sweet. Happy Stamping & Knitting!

My latest creation was for a bridal shower. Molly's colors are Melon Mambo and Certainly Celery. I thought the owls would be so cute to represent a couple! Hungry Girls Pineapple Upside Down Cake!

I admit I have a sweet tooth......dessert just seems to be one of the things I miss the most on WW. So I am always looking for ways to enjoy a dessert now and again! Hungry Girl came up with the recipe for a Pineapple Upside Down Cake! (here) I knew my Demarle at Home Flower Mold would work well for this cake!!!! There are 8 petals to the mold and this cake has 5 ppv for WW with 8 servings to a cake! How perfect is this! Easy way for portion control! And the best thing about Demarle is how easy things come out of the pan! I baked it, let it cool, and then turned it out onto a pretty plate. Now much left in the pan, and a quick was with soapy water, and a shake to dry it, I am done! I just have to stay away from it! Taking it for a pot luck dinner at a friend's house tonight! YUM! My Digital Studio Birthday Invites

I can finally share this! We threw my Dad a surprise party for his 80th birthday. I created the invitations in MDS. I scanned the photo from his high school graduation and used it for the invite. The background is the same picture, just faded out some. What do you think? I was very happy with how they came out! I was able to print two to a page on Very Vanilla cardstock, and them cornered rounded each and mounted them on to Soft Suede Cardstock! So easy and fun! Happy Stamping & Knitting!

Wish Big!

This card was fun to make! I cut circles of black with various circle punches and glued them down to a Crumb Cake layer. I then ran the whole thing through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing folder. This makes the circles look embedded! The stamp set used is from the Occasions Mini called "Bring on the Cake". I love how it all came together. Here is the front and the inside with a close up of the main image. Flower Power!

I loved the Tootsie Pop flowers that Kay made here. Mom asked for a favor idea for their Sigma Beta Phi Founder's Luncheon coming up in April and I knew these would be perfect! So I grabbed all my retired card stock and headed to my parents house for the weekend. Mom had two of her friends and members come over to help make them. Mom and I had pre-cut all the flowers and had them ready to go in bowls, separated in bowls. We had a few laughs, but were able to make 60 of them in less than two hours. The only thing left for them to do is bend up the petals before the event.

Wedding Invites

My best friend since high school's daughter Nikki is getting married. I told her I would make her invites and they are now complete! So 130 invites are done and in her hands ready to be mailed. It was a long process with the embossing of each one but I love how elegant and beautiful they are. The colors are Basic Black and Melon Mambo and they are embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the corner rounder to soften up the corners. I did save time by taking the cardstock to Fedex once it was formatted and had them print and cut them for me. It cost about $23 to have it all done! What a time saver! And I like the way the ink printed better than what my printer here at home did. Nikki came over today, and we worked all day to get them done! So I think she is happy with them and of course, they are one of a kind, and made with our own hands! Happy Stamping & Knitting!

Celebration Balloon Wreath

(Glad I am not allergic to latex!) They are in my Etsy shop for sale! Great gift for teachers too! What child wouldn't want the honor of hanging the birthday wreath on the classroom door for their special day! The label on the wreath was made using My Digital Studio. I love how this wonderful software we have has soooo many digital stamps, paper, accessories to make projects like this easier and faster to do! I just used the same balloon image and just changed the color and orientation! So fun and easy to do! For whatever reason, Blogger is rotating the pic below. Holiday Plate Decor

A few more things for the craft show! I bought the plates at a big box store, and Candy Cane Christmas Decor Elements. Added some Real Red retired ribbon that you can get in the clearance rack, and some Candy Cane Big Designer buttons! The plate rack is from Ikea and I am using it for the display. New Halloween Decor!

This is what one side looks like lit up. This is one side unlit. I wanted to make something new for the house. This has fit the bill for sure! The glass block is from a hobby store. I cut Basic Black cardstock down to fit on the outside and mounted some Night Owl DSP on top of that. I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch holes where it would reach. (I will use my retired Anywhere Hole punch for the next one). The block is filled with a small string of white lights. It is all wrapped up with Basic Black 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon. It is two sided. I have a few more ideas for later~ Happy Stamping & Knitting!

Big Shot meets My Digital Studio

I had an idea in my head when I went to make this treat. I was going to use the new Bat punch but didn't like it with the size of this treat. I would have had to add something else, but wanted to keep it simple. Enter My Digital Studio (MDS). I used the punch image in MDS and filled it with the Designer Series Paper (DSP), added the Happy Halloween with text, then printed them out on my computer onto Whisper White cardstock. So the treat holder itself is the Two Tags BigZ die cut in Tangerine Tango cardstock. I then ran the tag through the Big Shot with the new Spider embossing folder. It is tied up with a piece of Old Olive ribbon. I used sticky strip to hold a mini bag of candy corn on the inside! This was my Halloween Treat for an organized swap at the Baltimore Regional. Halloween will soon be here! I love this time of year when the leaves are changing, and you may require a sweater with the weather. But I LOVE Halloween. Guess it's just the kid in me still. I love to decorate the house, wear a costume, and just have fun! I also love to create things for Halloween. This is one of the cards I made for a Halloween swap with other demonstrators. The card is embossed with our new Spider Web Embossing Folder on Basic Black cardstock. And the scalloped silver square was made with Scallop Square Duo Bigz Die and our new Waffle paper! Cute Creatures & NOT SO CUTE Creatures!

Went up to Berryville, VA yesterday to the Shenandoah Fiber Festival and had a wonderful time with some friends. While it doesn't compare to our Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, it was nice not to have those crowded booths and just feel the yummy fibers! I love seeing the animals that provide us with the means to feed our fiber addiction. (Not referring to Bran here either!) Here are the cute creatures that I visited with at the festival! Then we all went to a retreat house to knit and spend the night. Well.............I thought it was bad there last year............uh uh! This isn't the best pic with my cell phone, but the little black specs you see are the BMSB (or the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug) . But I would like to change to BMSB to mean..... Little Boo Box

I love the little box that you can make with the Petal Card Double Punch! You cut out two of them and glue two sides and the bottom, and "voila" you have a little box perfect for a little treat. The Hershey Nuggets fit perfectly in here. The owl image is from the set that was a hostess set and is now retired. The "BOO" is from a set called Tiny Tags and it coordinates with the Jewelry Tag punch. I tied some Linen Thread around the box before adhering the image. The tag is attached with a mini silver brad.

Dark & Dreary

I love the Dark & Dreary set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. Especially being a Raven's football fan and having a raven in the set. I used Versamark and stamped the raven as the background on the Tangerine Tango cardstock. Then I added a strip of DSP from the Night Owl Designer Series paper. This is then layered with Basic Black cardstock and Very Vanilla Carstock. I stamped the VV with the Woodgrain background stamp with Crumb Cake Classic ink. It is all put together with the candelabra stamped in Basic Black in and I hung it upside down to be a chandelier! The owl was stamped with Basic Black ink on VV and mounted with dimensionals. The bat is made with the Bitty Bat Punch and Basic Black cs. The eyes are two of the smallest Basic Pearls Jewels accents. The Happy Halloween is a stamp from the All Holidays set. What do you think? My new ride!

Mike has been after me to get a new car for the past few years. I love my Focus wagon and didn't feel the need for a new car when this one was paid for, and had nothing wrong with it. I told him if I was ever to get a new car, and have payments, I would want a convertible. I test drove and brought home one last year. A Pontiac. He said it was too much and since Pontiac was going out of business it wouldn't be a smart move. End of that! He had been talking lately about a Hyundai Sonata (sp). I wanted to wait a while, at least til the end of the year and get a better deal. So the other day, he comes home and said he found a convertible at a local dealership that we could afford. And it was a Mercedes! Yeah Yeah...........sure honey. I didn't think we could afford nor did I think he would go for it. Mind you, as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I can lug around some serious stuff! But this one has a small trunk and would be do-able! Well he snuck off after dinner, when it was dark in hopes of going to the lot and seeing it without being seen by a sales person. WRONG! He was spotted, got shown the car, they talked, blah, blah, blah......He came home and told me that if I went and test drove the car he would have to pry my fingers off the steering wheel! So the next night, we went as a family to see it. I had called them earlier in the day to try to negotiate a better price over the phone. We ended up getting a great deal.....too good to pass up. And with Connor turning 16 next year and adding another driver to the household we can hang onto the Focus for him and for me to drive when the weather is bad. So I am now the driver of "Heidi"! Since she's a German girl, I named her after Heidi Klum who is one of my favorite celebs! Happy Stamping & Knitting!

Felting with Stampin' Up! embellishments!!!!

The sweater I had been knitting has been in "time out" for a few weeks. Messed up somewhere and it was making me nuts trying to figure out what was wrong. Sooooo....I chose to work on some simple projects that would not give me a fit, and give me almost instant gratification! This is a small little clutch that is embellished with retired Kiwi Kiss corduroy buttons! Then I made a few felted bangle bracelets and added some Designer Brads on one and Rhinestone Brads on the other! And the best thing about these bangles is that they are quiet!!! Roses are...............

In this case....NOT red! I love the flowers at Costco. They always have such a pretty selection and they last a long long time. I usually pick up a mixed bouquet when I go there. But yesterday, these gorgeous roses called my name! You get two dozen roses for $15.99! LOVE IT! I mistakenly got rid of a large vase I had a while ago, and have yet get another one. So I had to split them up into different vases. This vase is my favorite. My Mom gave this to me when Connor was born 15 years ago. It was given to her from my grandmother who received it with flowers from my grandfather when my mother was born! So this vase is 75 years old! It has a patina look to it. I need to come up with a way to make sure Connor keeps this in the family when I am gone! Happy Stamping & Knitting!

Addie's card

This has been a very sad week. My best friend Phyllis called me the morning of the 29th to tell me that her granddaughter Addie passed away. Addie was born on 2/20/10, just weighing 1lb. 7 oz. Such a tiny tiny baby. She fought hard for 5 long months. Her Mom, Nikki told me that on the day she died, Jacques (Daddy) laptop was on and out of nowhere, "Somewhere over the Rainbow" started playing. She even heard a little girl laugh. So when it came time to make her a card, I knew I didn't want to use a flower stamp or anything like that for a sympathy card. So I commissioned Tammy Thompson to make me a custom digital image. I love what she came up with based on this story. The supplies on this card are all Stampin' Up! with the exception of the image and the pink flower. But I did use my Big Shot to cut the fabric, which is from a felted sweater! Happy Stamping & Knitting!

Concord Crush Prayers

I LOVE one of our new In-Colors called Concord Crush. It has a deep dark purple hue that I think is Yummy! I used it as the base cardstock for this card. The designer series paper layers are made with Lap of Luxury DSP(designer series paper). I distress the layers and sponged with some Concord Crush ink. The half pearls are a new product we have Jewel Accents, and this is from the Basic Pearls. You get a sheet of different sized self adhesive gems! I had a bit of trouble with my fingernails applying them, then got smart and just used the edge of a cutting blade to pick them off the sheet and place them. The main image is from the Thoughts & Prayers set and is stamped with Concord Crush on Whisper White cardstock. Then I added some Linen Thread to pull it all together. A fast and simple, yet elegant card.

The new Stampin' Up! catalog started.....I got some new stuff to play with, but am still trying to reorganize my room! It's a chore, and overwhelming! Been busy knitting some things. Made the sweater for Mom back in May, and liked it so much I had to make one for myself. Then saw an adorable monster pattern and wanted to make them for my nephews. Here is the first one I made. Hybrid Birthday Card

First a little story......I have been stamping. Been making some birthday cards for all the June birthdays, Father's Day etc. I take pics of my creations for here, and to share with my customers etc. Well my camera's memory card decided it didn't want to work anymore! Tells me it's full, then when I go to look at the images on the camera, it tells me there are none. So then how can it be full??? Anyhoo.......I had some nice shots, taken outside in natural sunlight. POOF! Now not on camera. So I wanted to share this hybrid card. I take the cards we get for occasions and use tacky putty to put them on the door. This is my son's birthday card that is hanging on the door! Looks like a life size card in this pic doesn't it! But it's only a 5x7 card. The card is made with MDS (My Digital Studio). I made on my computer and printed the card front onto Whisper White Cardstock. The trimmed and mounted onto sheet folded in half then trimmed down. Layered with Basic Black CS. The stars on the card itself are a stamp in MDS, but I wanted to give it some dimension so I punched some stars with the star punch, added some brads, and popped them up with dimensionals. The two silver circles are leftover from my Father's day cards. (will have them in another post later) Happy Stamping & Knitting!

Hey.....is that your drink or mine?

It is always inevitable! Have a party, and someone puts a drink down, and then someone else does the same. Then the problem arises........"Whose drink is whose????" Problem solved!!! We are having a Father's Day/Birthday celebration tomorrow. I don't want to mess with cups since drinks will be bottled water, Lipton 1/2tea, 1/2 lemonade, and beer! I told Mike I needed to make some tags. He replied, " You don't have time for all that!" HAHA! I sure did have time! All I needed was My Digital Studio and some shrink plastic! I got some ink jet shrink plastic at a local stamp convention this past year. I found it in my stash and went to work! Just pulled up a blank page in MDS (My Digital Studio) added the flower and star images and the names, printed on my printer. I cut down the sheets once printed into a strip as the tag, punched a whole with the 1/2" circle punch, then stuck in the toaster oven (I have an old one I use for this and polymer clay). Once they were cool, I added a large jump ring and a pony tail holder! Now we will all have tags for our bottles tomorrow! Love it!

A simple card or step in up for a more elegant card. What do you prefer? I love showing how simple it is to create a beautiful card. And to add some punch to it with just a few simple embellishments. Depending on how much time I have when I make my own personal cards, I prefer the embellishments, but sometimes time does not allow. Two great cards with slightly different looks. Flower Collage

I love the spring and the summer. I especially love having flowers in bloom. This year we had some landscaping done on the front, and had some dead azaleas taken out on the side of the house. I already had a hydrangea planted there a few years ago and added two more where the azaleas were. Home Depot had some gorgeous Mandevillas that I had to have for the patio! Mom's Mother's Day gift

While this will be a late gift for Mom, it is done! This is the quickest sweater I have made besides a baby one! Love the way it turned out! And have now cast on one for me with a different yarn. Stampin' Up! has announced that color changes will be coming in the new catalog coming in July. Click on the pic's below to download the retiring colors and the new colors. Colors will be retiring, some of the previous In-Colors will be returning, and there will be more colors as well. With this said, take a look at these charts. MDS to the rescue!

Time seems to go by to fast for me! I have plans to do this and that, but never enough time to do it all. Today is our Easter party at school (I work in the after care program). I wanted to give my kids (kindergartners) a treat bag to take home. Got the stuff for the bags, stuffed them, and at this point it was late in the evening. I wanted a tag for the bag but was too tired to go get all my supplies out to stamp them.

So MDS (My Digital Studio) to the rescue! I just pulled up a blank page, filled the background with the polka dot designer paper, added the bunny image, some text, and was done! Printed them onto cardstock on my printer, cut out, added to bags and was done!

That is one of the great things I love about MDS! You don't have to use it for just scrapbooking or cardmaking!

Pop Up Birthday!

As a demo, I have quite a bit of retired products. So I use them up on my personal projects. This is a paper that I love.....but alas it is retired. But it sure looks great on this pop up can! Inside is money for a birthday gift! And once opened, it can be a pencil can.

The flower is made with Real Red, and Bashful Blue cardstock that was run through the Big Shot with the Flowers Daisy #2 die cut. The center brad is an epoxy brad from the Occasions mini called Sending Love Epoxy Brads.

The wider green ribbon is also retired, but the others are the 1/4" grosgrain and gingham ribbons!

This is what I made for some co-workers, and for my stamp club members. Shamrock sugar cookies wrapped up in a paper/glassine bag!

Andrea Walford had a tutorial for running one of our new glassine bags through the Big Shot with a texturz plate, so I had to give it a try!

We have been hit with a huge storm! It started on Friday, 2-5-10 and snowed until Saturday. We dug out what we could and waited for the snow plows that finally got here on Monday. I had to run errands today. Bank, returns, Costco, etc. I took my camera out of my purse to ease up on some of the weight. I wish I hadn't! I forgot it on Christmas Eve, used it on Christmas morning, took in to my in-laws the day after Christmas and forgot to use it. Today I needed it! It started when I went to Marshalls. I had to return a coat I bought for Connor. He didn't like it. So after I returned it, I walked over to the shoe area. I wanted a black half boot since the ones I went to wear for Christmas are a 1/2 size too small for my foot now! I saw these shoes and lost it! I only had my phone with me so I used the camera on it! Two boys were watching me and laughing!!! Not sure if they thought I liked the shoes or not! I saw the shoes, got a *mental* picture of me wearing them, and couldn't stop laughing! What do you think? Would they make me look slimmer and taller? Or like Herman Munster's wife? Then I walked down to Home Goods to see if there were any deals. I didn't buy anything.....but saw this woman. Not sure if you can see it when you click on the pic, but she is walking around with huge curlers in her hair! Do women STILL DO THIS???????? I hope she bought a curling iron! Then I left, and went to Costco. Walking around, doing my shopping. Passed someone at the meat case who had some stuffed salmon in his cart. I said, "Excuse me sir, have you had that before, and is it any good?" He said, "Sure have, and it's pretty good." That was when I got a better look at his face. It was "Roc" or Charles Dutton!

Gingerbread making is stressful!

Can you see that I am catching up on blogging! Last one for today! Connor and I made a gingerbread house. It was one of those pre-made kits that I got at Michael's. I was disappointed in the candy though. The ribbon type candy was all stuck together and we didn't have enough to make all the windows. I also used some starlight mints that I had for the roof. I could have used more icing too....but oh well! I of course didn't read the instructions and should have done the sides of the house first. But I didn't and put the roof on too....which was sliding all over the place! Finally took it off and waited for the sides to dry............It turned out okay! This is the back.

Snowball is so festive!

Our dog Snowball, is such a good sport! I was playing with some ribbon and making wreaths. This one came out large enough to use as a decorative collar! I added a bell and put it around her neck! She was such a sport to wear it! She hates the camera and was giving me looks so I just had to share them!

A Dashing Dasher!

I had every intention of making all our Christmas cards this year, but have run out of time. I did manage to get a few of these made. I started out at first with a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 " card but then soon realized I didn't have enough Real Red to make them all that big. So I scaled down. This is an Easel card. The front folds back upon itself and stands up as a nice card for display. All items are SU accept for the large rhinestone. The reindeer is "Dasher" who is a single stamp in the back of our catalog. Great stamp for only $8.95! This also shows a *sneak peek* at a new punch coming January 5th in the Occasions Mini Catalog. It is called Pinking Hearts border!

Carmelized Pecan-Apple Pie

This is from my Demarle at Home rep table talk issue! November 23, 2009 Congratulations Melissa Cunnington! Winner of the December "A Dish to Pass" Melissa LOVES this recipe. When she baked the pie, it brought out many smiles and "Ooh's" and "Ahhs"! Recipe: 10-12 med. tart apples peeled and sliced thin 1/2 c. sugar Lemon juice 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. ground cloves 3/4 c. chopped pecans 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. butter 2 T. corn starch Pie crust (any will be fine): one for the bottom, one for the top 1 egg (whisked) The following Demarle at Home product was used: Fluted Pie Mold Pastry Brush Magnetic Measuring Trio Large Stock Pot Medium Baking Sheet Directions: Take the apples, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg and place into a large stock pot. Add about 1/4 cup of water. Simmer the apple mixture until apples are soft. Once they are soft take a small amount (about 2 T.) of cornstarch and mix with water. Add it to the apple mixture while it's simmering to make the juice a little thicker. Melt the butter and pour onto the bottom of the mold; add the sugar and the pecans and spread evenly on the bottom. Place one of the pie crusts over the top of the pecan mixture. Add the apple mixture and top the pie with the 2nd pie crust. Use the pastry brush to glaze the top of the pie with the egg mixture. Bake in the oven at 375° until the crust is golden (30-45 minutes). Take out of the oven and allow to cool for at least an hour. When pie is cooled flip it upside down onto a large serving platter and peal off the mold. Voila! A beautiful presentation and dessert everyone will remember! Happy Stamping & Knitting!

Branch Out!

Branch Out is one of my favorite stamp sets. I love the way you can get a tree any color you like. I wanted a fall tree this time. I stamped the tree in Basic Brown onto my 4-1/4 " square of Very Vanilla CS. The leaves are done with Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, and Old Olive. I put some leaves on the ground as well. I used my blender pen and added some grass around the bottom of the tree. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the VV is layered onto a piece of Chocolate Chip CS and then to the base card.

I also sponged some Pumpkin Pie and Ruby Red on the background and edges to give it a look of a fall sky.

And do you get the fence?????? It is a border punch of birthday candles! What do you think?

Yummy Fall Cupcakes!

My nephew leaves this weekend for the Air Force boot camp. My sister threw a going away party for him this past weekend. I made these! So moist and yummy!

Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients: 2 c. canned pumpkin 2/3 c. vegetable oil 2 c. granulated sugar 1/2 c. milk 2 tsp. vanilla extract 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp. ground cloves

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1/4 tsp ground ginger 1/2 tsp. salt

Frosting : 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature 4 Tbsp. butter, at room temperature 4 c. 10x sugar 1 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Line muffin pan with 24 cupcake liners. (I use my Demarle at Home without liners for our personal home consumption, but use liners for company) In a medium bowl, stir together pumpkin, oil, sugar, milk, and vanilla. Sift in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and spices. Gently whisk by hand until just combined, don’t use an electric mixer or overmix the batter.

Fill liners 2/3 full). Bake for 22 to 24 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely before frosting.

Frosting: In a medium bowl, mix together cream cheese, butter, and vanilla. Gradually add powdered sugar and cinnamon, mixing well.

Rocky....a peeping Tom!

If you read my blog, you have met Rocky in the past. He came for breakfast yesterday. I was out of peanuts, so we have been giving him pistachios. (yes, he is spoiled) I was able to hand feed him some yesterday! Kind of scares me some though........brown finger nail polish may confuse him and think it's a nut! So later in the day..I heard this ruckus....has jumped from the top of your outdoor fireplace onto the window screen! Then back again! I ran and got the camera, and he was playing hide and seek with me! I was laughing to hard......cause every time I brought the came up to the window to snap a shot, he would duck down, then peek back up again! I think my photos tell it all!

This is going to be hard for me to only pick 9! There are so many wonderful people out there in blog land! But here goes!

1.) Fresh and Fun by Beate Johns. Beate is a demo for Stampin' Up! as well as a designer for other companies and is very big part of SCS. I love her spirit, and her talent has me with my mouth hanging open half the time. She is on my bucket list to meet one day. A very beautiful woman with a kind and generous spirit.

2.) The Craftiblog is done by a mother/daughter team. I love to see what they come up with! It's nice to see a the variety they have on here for those of us who dabble in a little of this and that!

Applesauce- via the Demarle at Home Large Round Mold!

I bought 1/2 bushel of apples in WV on the way home from my knitting retreat a few weeks ago. They have been in the garage waiting for me to finish using them up. Connor has been home from school all week with the H1N1 virus so I stayed home today too to keep an eye on him and was in the kitchen a big part of the day! I made two Apple Crunch pies, and 4 rounds of Applesauce. I have never made applesauce before.....but will from now on! This was sooooo easy!

I used my Large Round mold from Demarle at Home! (click on the highlighted words to view the mold and other items I am referrring to).

The recipe calls for 8 apples. I can't remember what the ones I bought were called, but they a little tartness to them. Core and peel the apples. Place in the Lg Round Mold on top of a plate. Add 1tsp. cinnamon, and a sprinkling of nutmeg, along with 1/4 - 1/2 c. water. Stir. Cover with Octagonal Silpat and microwave for 10 minutes. Stir, then microwave for another 5-6 min., or until apples are tender. Mash with a potato masher! That's it! How easy is that! And it's yummy too!

But what else can you use the mold for you ask????? I make a killer cheesecake in this!

Bake a cake, roast a chicken, or veggies, or anything for that matter, and clean up is a breeze!

Ho ho ho blocks Paper: Card Stock Whisper White 8 1/2X11 Card Stock Real Red 8 1/2X11 Ink SHIMMER PAINT CHAMPAGNE MIST Accessories: Sizzix Big Shot Machine RIBBON GROSGRAIN POLKA DOT REAL RED 3/4" BIGZ ALPHABET SIMPLE LETTERS Instructions 1. Cover each side of two Décor Elements blocks with Real Red card stock (3" x 3"). Cover each side of third block with Whisper White card stock (3" x 3"). 2. Cut “Ho ho” from Whisper White card stock and “Ho” from Real Red card stock using Sizzix Big Shot and Alphabet Simple Letters Bigz die.3. Adhere Whisper White letters and winter scenes from the Holiday Mix Décor Elements to Real Red blocks.4. Adhere Décor Elements snowflakes to Real Red blocks.5. Adhere Real Red letters to Whisper White block. 6. Mix a few drops of Champagne Mist shimmer paint with 1 oz. of rubbing alcohol and spritz entire project.7. When blocks are dry, tie Real Red 3/4" polka-dot grosgrain ribbon (28") around Whisper White block.

Instructions

Merry card (3" x 3")

1. Color stem and leaves image with Old Olive and Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write markers and stamp on Whisper White card stock (2-3/8" x 2-3/8"). Stamp berries image in Real Red ink. Adhere card stock to Real Red card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

2. Punch hole in Chocolate Chip textured card stock (2-1/2" x 2-1/2") using 1-3/4" Circle punch, and attach to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

3. Stamp bird image in Crushed Curry ink on Whisper White card stock, cut out, and adhere to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

4. Color “Merry” from “Make merry” stamp using Old Olive Stampin’ Write marker, and stamp on Old Olive card stock. Punch out using 1" Circle punch. Attach clip to circle, and adhere to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Purple Flower Power!

I am loving my SU exclusive Flower Folds Bigz die cut! This die cut will cut your cardstock and put score lines for the petals to be raised etc. But look at what you can do with fabric!!!!! I made this up to wear on my lapel of my jackets. So easy to do!

Sitting here watching the Raven's game. Connor is eating some crackers with the little cups of peanut butter. Our squirrel, Rocky, who always comes up to the back door, must have smelled it and came running up! I gave him what was left and I could have filmed more, but of course Connor had to come out and scare him. I almost have him eating out of my hand! My First Digital Album

Stampin' Up! will be releasing our new "My Digital Studio" software to customers on October 1st. As a demo, I could pre-order it. I just finished creating my first album. This is an 8x8 book that I created. You can also make a movie like I did here. This was sooo easy to do. I opened premade layout and inserted the pics. Then I added the background papers, some embellishments and stamps here and there. I should have it in 7-10 days to share with you! You can also make cards digitally, calendars and more! Dog Bone Treats......for Humans!

I had some chocolate chip cookie dough in the fridge and want to make some cookies up. Decided to pull out my new Demarle Puppy Lover's Tray and use it! Be sure you don't fill your mold up too much as they will overflow the mold shape won't be as cute! These were just a hit with the "boys"!

Wouldn't these be great for a school with a dog as a mascot! A great sell for the concession stand at football games!

My Digital Studio!

One of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is being able to pre-order some of the new things before our customers can. We could pre-order My Digital Studio which can be purchased by customers on October 1st. I am playing around with it (when I should be cleaning my stamp room!) from time to time. I plan on doing hybrid pages so that I can print a smaller 8x8 page and add it to 12x12 cardstock and add other embellishments, journeling, etc. This is one page of many that I will be doing of our family vacation to the Outer Banks! This is so much fun and very user friendly!

First Day of School for HS class of 2013!

Today is a day filled with mixed emotions for me. Connor is beginning his high school journey! I am saddened by the fact that my baby is no longer a baby........yet glad to see that he is turning into a fantastic young man. He is funny, kind, insightful, handsome, and has the best sense of humor! It seems all we do now is laugh! (more at my expense of course with my senior moments and brain farts!) We are very proud of him and I hope we all can get through these high school years smoothly......with Connor making wise decisions along his journey, and Mike and I there to support him along his way. Love you so much Connor! You make me proud!
