Decorate Anything with Rub-Ons!

I bought this desk set a while ago. I stamped on the little chest that came with the set HERE in 2007, but never did anything with the clock and business card holder. So going through my stash a few weeks ago I saw that I had tons of rub-ons that are now retired and wanted to use some of them up.

First Day of School for HS class of 2013!

Today is a day filled with mixed emotions for me. Connor is beginning his high school journey! I am saddened by the fact that my baby is no longer a baby........yet glad to see that he is turning into a fantastic young man. He is funny, kind, insightful, handsome, and has the best sense of humor! It seems all we do now is laugh! (more at my expense of course with my senior moments and brain farts!) We are very proud of him and I hope we all can get through these high school years smoothly......with Connor making wise decisions along his journey, and Mike and I there to support him along his way. Love you so much Connor! You make me proud!

My Digital Studio******Coming Soon!

I am anxiously awaiting the release of Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio this fall! I am waaaaay behind in my scrap booking and know this will be a tool to help me preserve our memories. Some have said they would NEVER go digital. I am not one of those! I plan on doing "Hybrid" scrap booking where I combine the best of both worlds! Smaller digital layouts to put on my 12x12 pages! And the best part of all is that you will be able to make gifts for grandparents, wedding gifts, baby shower gifts...........and the list goes on! So keep your eyes open, and keep visiting my SU site (link in signature below) to get your copy when it comes out!

Joan's Fall Felted Bag Pattern

I made this a while ago and then was commissioned to make one as a gift. Ravelry members have requested the pattern. And since I can't figure out how to get it on there, I will post it here! So go forth and knit a bag! Supplies: 1 skein Paton’s Classic Wool Taupe (get 2 if making an I-Cord for handles) 2 skeins Sensations Licorice Color 109 (note**** I got both yarns at Joann’s) Size 10-1/2 “ circular needles and DP needles With Paton’s Classic Wool, cast on 48 stitches and knit back and froth for 40 rows or 20 ridges. This is your base. Then pick up stitches around the base for your bag. Be sure to place marker for beginning of round. I then knit for 15 rows. (this just gives me a good oval base once felted, if you want more of a brown trim on the bottom of the bag, knit more of the brown) Switch to Joann’s Licorice and knit for an additional 12 inches. Switch back to brown and knit for another 3 inches. Don’t bind off). Do a knitted on I-cord with 4 stitches. (if you don't know how to do this go to http://www.knithelp.com/ . This will give you more of an edge on the finished project. Felt in hot water in washing machine. Be sure to check it often, until you reach your desired size. Do not run through the rinse cycle. Gently squeeze out any access water and then roll in beach towels. I then stuff mine with towels to dry. (I put mine in front of a fan to dry quicker!) I also used leather handles from a purse I picked up at a thrift store that are sewn on. I also sewed on a horn button and sewed on a large elastic hair tie for the closure. Hope this makes sense! Have fun and enjoy! Joan Happy Stamping & Knitting!
